July seems to be the month for weddings. Today we went to a town in the Czech Republic called Ždár nad Sázavou as one of my husband's university friends was getting married. It was the first time I'd been to a Czech village wedding and was not sure what to expect. The day was brilliant and there was a lot of laughter, dancing, eating and of course drinking. The evening finished with a few of the boys (and me, having been forced) doing karaoke - classy I know. The picture on the left is of the bride and groom partaking in a Czech wedding tradition. A plate is broken in front of the newlyweds and they have to clean it up together. This joint effort is supposed to symbolise the ways in which they will work together and help each other in their married life. The picture on the right is of the table set for the wedding breakfast. I've never seen a table set to cater for quite so many people before.
